Head of School
Katrin Vanhecke started her career in education in 1992 as a teacher of translation and interpreting studies at Cluny-ISEIT in Madrid. Later, she taught interpreting at the University of Cordoba. In 2013, she was offered the opportunity to work as an elementary guide in Madrid Montessori. She liked the experience so much that she decided to get Montessori Adolescent training and start this school project. Since 2016 she has been tutoring students from grade 6 to 10 giving general curriculum support and attending special education needs.
She has more than 20 years of teaching experience in various settings. She will be responsible for the daily management of the school. She holds the North American Montessori Association/Association Montessori International (NATMA/AMI) Orientation to Adolescent Studies Certificate, 2014, Gothemburg, Sweden, a Master’s degree in School Direction and Management, 2016, Granada, a Master’s degree in Neuropsychology, Multiple Intelligences, and Mindfulness, 2018, Madrid, and a PhD in Translation Studies, 2008, Malaga University.
